Are you feeling unmotivated in your day to day work? Here are 10 quick ways to help you stay motivated, especially during the worldwide pandemic.
1. Write your to-do list at night
Planning out your day when you first wake up in the morning can be a bit overwhelming. Writing out your to-do list at night is a great way to wake up in the morning feeling on top of the morning.
2. Change your taste in music
What type of music is on your playlist? Is it chill? Upbeat? Pay attention to the lyrics. Are they sharing the same goals in life as you do? You don’t want to listen to Debbie Downers or lazy songs. Listening to motivational and uplifting music not only changes your work ethic but you as a person. Set the tone of your music. Spotify is a great place to start, they have a set of playlists based on your mood or attribution.
3. Listen to audiobooks and podcasts
Listen to self-help books or autobiographies of successful people. Audiobooks are great to listen to when you don’t have the actual time to pick up a book. You can listen to audiobooks on your way to the grocery store, work, or even picking up your kids from school. Podcasts are also great because it shows you how people living in today’s era are trying to stay successful in life.
4. Set a timer for each task
Set alarms for 10 to 15 minutes between tasks. This is a great way to not only keep track of time but to prevent you from feeling overwhelmed.
5. Set up a mini office or sanctuary
If it’s possible, make one of your vacant bedrooms or dining room an office space. Even if you don’t have an extra room, try to make space for your plans and projects. You can create a little productivity corner in your bedroom or your living room.
6. Motivational decor
⁃ Whether that’s motivational quotes plastered on your wall, framed vision boards, or even a picture of your role model. Motivational quotes help you stay in the right mind frame.
7. Keep a brain dump journal and an idea book
⁃ Whenever your mind starts racing and you can’t think straight, jot it down. Once you emptied your brain on a piece of paper (or typed it out), organize these thoughts from most important to least important. Not only will this help you write out your to-do list at night, but make you feel tranquil mentally.
8. Arrange your decor whenever you start to feel unmotivated
⁃ Stagnant energy in your home is a real bummer. To prevent this, dust your furniture, open your windows and sage your home. In feng shui, if you move around 15 items in your home, it will change the ch’i (or the energy) of your home.
9. Write down your future goals
⁃ Have something to look forward to. Write a “5 years from now” plan in detail. Don’t forget small goals are just as important as big goals.
10. Try something new
⁃ Whether that’s trying a cold shower for the first time or taking a Vinyasa flow yoga class. Switch it up and try something new. Believe it or not, your brain actually likes it when you try new things. Challenging your brain can also prevent Alzheimer’s.
